The Donmar Warehouse hosted a brilliant Masterclass for Creative Access in September
Our September Masterclass saw our Creative Access interns enjoy an inspiring event at Covent Garden theatre, the Donmar Warehouse. At the masterclass our interns gained a fascinating insight into the varied and exhilarating world of theatre, learning about the unique collaborative nature of the industry. Hosted by the Donmar Warehouse’s Education Manager, Sam Maynard, the panel was made up of representatives from all aspects of the theatre industry. Nick Payne a West End playwright explained his writing process and the creative freedoms of theatre scripts compared to TV. Mark Dakin a Technical Director at the National Theatre, spoke on the behind the scenes process necessary to bring a play to life. Dawn Green a Director at talent agency CAM, described her role in finding acting talent and organising theatre auditions, whilst Alastair Coomer, Casting Director at the Donmar Warehouse spoke about choosing the right actors to make the most of the playwright’s vision.
