Creative Access host a fantastic masterclass at Viacom
Last night, Creative Access hosted another brilliant masterclass at Viacom, home to some of the world’s most iconic media brands including MTV, Nickelodeon, BET and Paramount. As usual, we were joined by our ever growing network of Creative Access interns along with a number of alumni.
We were delighted to have MTV News presenter, Becca Dudley, as our host for the evening.
The evening kicked off with Viacom’s Vice President of Corporate Communications, Matt Baker, who gave us an overview of Viacom and some of the amazing brands that they encompass.
Next up was Nickelodeon’s Vice President, Tim Patterson, who gave our interns some valuable advice on the importance of tenacity and not being afraid to fail. He said “The most successful people fail more than unsuccessful people.”
Viacom’s Post-Production and Studio Manager, Rebecca Hodgson, discussed some of the issues involved with censorship and ensuring that their content is suitable for pre and post-watershed audiences.
Finally, MTV Base’s Music Editor, Lindsay Wesker, and Arfa Butt, (UK Programming at MTV Base) talked about their roles at MTV Base and why they believed black audiences deserved better music television. Lindsay said, “Black audiences were waiting for a black music TV station for such a long time, so it’s our responsibility to only play the best.”
A massive thanks to our amazing panel members who all contributed to a wonderful evening:
