Employer Partner Case Study: ITV

ITV Studios were the first broadcaster to take a Creative Access intern back in October 2012. Since then, we have placed over 70 interns across the ITV network of companies, including at 12 Yard, Shiver, Two Four and ITV News.

Commenting on the impact of their Creative Access interns on the business, Sally Debonnaire, Director of Production at ITV Studios, said: “The internships have enhanced our thinking from a programming perspective, and we are now focused on a culture of openness, where even the most junior members of the team feel they can make suggestions. You never know where the best ideas or thoughts are going to come from, so it is great to have a diverse mix of people with whom you can generate and discuss ideas. The scheme is particularly strong at spotting talent that might not have thought of working in TV, or who have previously found it difficult to get into.”

As well as placing interns, Creative Access also supports its alumni community by finding employment opportunities with partner companies.

Creative Access has such a strong pool of freelancers among its alumni, who are all pre-screened, great to work with and really ‘get’ the industry – they would never suggest or put forward someone who was not appropriate to do the job. If we receive a commission at short notice, there is a quick and effective way to crew up with a wider, more diverse pool of fresh, quality freelancers.”
