Hearst UK is a premium media owner, publishing 24 well-known brands including ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and Good Housekeeping. Their titles cover fashion, beauty, lifestyle, homes, health and wellbeing and inspire their readers ‘To Get More Out Of Life’. At Hearst UK, they strive to create a culture that enables their people to Learn Well, Work Well and Live Well. They believe in fostering an inclusive, diverse culture and want to ensure Hearst attracts and retains a wide range of talent.

First of all, can you answer these three questions:

  • Do you know your GBBO from your GoT?
  • Could you have fixed Fyre Festival?
  • Can you tell them the difference between Snap Shows and TikTok?

If so, then Hearst want to hear from you! The Nest is an incubator programme developed in order to harness the creativity of rising talent.

They are looking for eight talented individuals to take part in the programme for 7 weeks starting July 15th, 2019. During this time, you will tackle a brief set by Hearst’s Leadership Team or one of their partners, to come up with a game-changing new product or service. As you explore, research and develop your ideas, you will gain unique access to the expertise of Hearst UK Teams across various departments, from editorial and digital to commercial and finance, who will provide guidance and support throughout. You will then present your ideas back to the business during the final week.

During your time with them, you will work with experts across the business on key areas such as:

  • Market research and insight
  • Audience analysis
  • Building a product idea
  • Editorial development
  • Understanding the competitor landscape
  • Brand development
  • Building a marketing plan as well as an overall business plan

Throughout the programme you will be coached and developed by Julian Linley, their Business Development Director who is also a lecturer in journalism at City University and former Editor-in-Chief of Digital Spy.
