Station Sound and Music Coordinator

The British Forces broadcaster is looking for a talented and multi-skilled Music and Station Sound Coordinator to join their team. Although starting at this level, there is the possibility of clear career progression into management within the first 12 months for the right candidate.

This job is based at their HQ near Gerrards Cross in Buckinghamshire, but there may be the opportunity to travel and be posted long term overseas to places like Canada, Germany, Gibraltar and Cyprus.


Station Sound and Music Manager role:

  • Manage and compile music hour clocks across 14 databases in Autotrack 4
  • Schedule all music, imaging and scheduled speech content for all stations, weekly
  • Manage global time zone changes, and variable seasonal and themed schedules
  • Manage, update and refresh music across all databases
  • Liaise with Senior Radio management team over music policy
  • Develop more efficient processes and workflows
  • Collaborate with other departments
  • Manage all Station Sound audio into Autotrack 4 for transfer to all databases

Station Sound Coordinator role:

  • Cover all music scheduling duties during leave periods for SS&MM Send Messaging Briefs to potential clients
  • Respond to Messaging enquiries
  • Keep weekly promos folders up to date
  • Schedule weekly promos every Tuesday on Myriad and keep ‘Station Sound’ folder up to date
  • Check imaging requests
  • Check FTP folder daily for new material and disseminate where appropriate
  • Quality control and check all promos before scheduling


  • Extensive experience of contributing to station music policy and scheduling workflows at management level
  • Extensive experience and understanding of full range of Autotrack 4 functions
  • Experience of using Myriad Experience of working across multiple radio networks
  • Experience of liaising with PRS and PPL
  • Used to forging and maintaining professional relationships with music labels, industry organisations and presentation teams
  • A natural collaborator who is able to identify and work with internal and external stakeholders
  • An exemplary sound producer, for music, promos and imaging purposes
  • Able to explain what ‘good’ sounds like
  • Radio presentation skills are desirable but not essential
