To do this, Purpose brings together world-class talent from the world of creatives, content development, storytelling, campaigning, grassroots organizing, and political strategy to build new creative campaigning models. Guided by smart political strategy and powered by new technologies for participation, their work reframes issues, engages new audiences, shifts public discourse, and ultimately drives targeted action that shifts decision-makers and creates lasting impact.

As a Campaigns Intern, you will share the stories that count. You will drive engagement on social media channels, delve into analytics, build-out audiences, and explore the trending conversations that can become breakthrough moments. The successful candidate will join a global team of campaigners, strategists, and campaigners who all aim to use social media to energise conversations online and create a tangible impact that changes both culture and policies. Your responsibilities will be spread across social impact projects that are directly influencing the world, as well as marketing Purpose’s channels with inspiring and innovative content that exhibits the ways they are shaping the world. You will also have the chance to write creatively, exploring in-depth the previous successes of Purpose campaigns, and the current projects that influence society right now.


  • Work closely with the campaigns team to implement social media campaigns, such as writing social media copy for different digital platforms, managing online communities, sourcing innovative stories, maximising engagement and impact through content optimisation, and generally working towards the success of Purpose campaigns
  • Source, develop and schedule content regularly for Purpose channels
  • Monitor Purpose’s social media to maintain a high quality of community management
  • Write blog posts and website copy for projects and the Purpose website, liaising with members of the global team to source meaningful information
  • Utilise a meticulous eye for detail to schedule digital adverts on social media platforms for both projects and Purpose marketing, disseminating their key messages to new audiences and retargeting core supporters
  • Analyse social media insights and digital campaign results appropriately and clearly
  • Develop creative content ideas suitable for social media
  • Participate in campaign brainstorms to generate innovative ideas
  • Support projects through operational tasks that enable top-quality campaign execution
  • Explore and investigate other social networking tools/platforms for communicating and spreading awareness on issues



  • Social media community management experience for an organization or campaign on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn
  • An understanding of how to move people to engage with content focused on social impact
  • Familiarity with best practices of social media
  • Excellent written English skills, with meticulous attention to detail, with a background in journalism or writing
  • Knowledge of internet culture and digital landscape, with a proactive understanding of emerging trends online
  • Efficient time management skills to work on multiple projects and manage own time effectively
  • Ability to follow a brief, dissect relevant information, and create concise and engaging content


  • Experience in digital advertising on social media
  • A strong grasp of politics, the political process, and current social change issues within the UK and globally
  • An affinity with the power of storytelling and narrative
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel/Powerpoint or Google Sheets/Slides
  • Experience with creativity, such as copywriting or art
