SAGE are now looking for a Publishing Assistant to support their fast-growing open access journals. The successful candidate will have excellent administrative skills and ensure that the programme runs smoothly.


  • Answer author open access and payment queries accurately and professionally
  • Coordinate and organise meetings, taking minutes and follow up on action points
  • Assimilate key information about journal processes and produce concise response
  • Collate and analyse journal performance data for business decisions
  • Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the open access portfolio
  • Gather data, research and analysis related to industry trends, developments and debates and competitors
  • Coordinate discrete projects and journals-wide administration for the team
  • Provide administrative support to the OA Operations Manager


  • Accuracy and consistency skills
  • Comprehension and problem solving skills
  • Good administrative, organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Strong numeracy, interpersonal and communication skills, including written and in person/on the phone
  • Proficient computer skills — MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Able to organise and juggle a varied workload under pressure and work quickly and efficiently
  • Able to work effectively both independently and part of a team
