Marketing Assistant

The Kiln Theatre produces world-class theatre that provokes, entertains and appeals to their exceptionally diverse society in Brent and beyond. They view the world through a variety of lenses, bringing unheard voices into the mainstream and presenting high quality and innovative work, which provokes debate and emotionally engages. Some of their recent partners include NT Live, BFI London Film Festival, Images of Black Women Film Festival and DocHouse.

They are currently offering a three month paid internship in their Marketing Department. The successful candidate will support the Marketing and Communications team in the day-to-day running of the department, gaining hands-on experience of the delivery of all marketing campaigns, brand maintenance, social media, audience development and digital projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate social media posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube
  • Build and update webpages on kilntheatre.com, keeping information up to date
  • Assist with the creation of cinema newsletters and flyers
  • Arrange email and social media swaps with other arts organisations
  • Undertake research for theatre, cinema and general audience development marketing campaigns and audience research projects
  • Proof marketing materials such as flyers, programmes and press releases
  • Support Kiln Theatre’s print distribution campaigns and record and file Kiln Theatre’s press activity
  • Small design jobs in house as necessary via Photoshop and InDesign
  • Assist in the creation of audio and video content as necessary
  • Ensure a constant presence of up to date marketing print around the building
  • Answer telephone marketing enquiries
  • Support excellent internal communications
  • Support the needs of other Kiln Theatre departments including Fundraising, Creative Learning and Operations (including Cinema)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Genuine interest in working in theatre marketing
  • Enthusiastic and willing to get stuck in
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure, to prioritise and to meet deadlines
  • Approachable and professional with good communication skills (including written communication)
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Creative and persuasive with excellent attention to detail
  • Passion for theatre/film/arts

Desirable

  • Experience using InDesign and Photoshop
  • Experience of working with social networking platforms
  • Experience of using Spektrix and Dotmailer
