Royal Opera House (ROH) is one of the world’s greatest opera companies. Based in the iconic Covent Garden theatre, it is renowned both for its outstanding performances of traditional opera and for commissioning new works by today’s leading opera composers.

Royal Opera House are looking for a Human Resources Administrator to join their busy team. This varied role provides proactive administrative and logistical support across all of ROH’s HR activities, and is a good opportunity to develop your HR experience.


  • Being the first point of contact with the other HR Administrators for enquiries and providing excellent customer service by phone, face-to-face or by email
  • Recruitment administration (arranging interviews, drafting letters and contracts, documentation checks, liaison with payroll, induction administration, etc.)
  • Administering new starter and leaver procedures, working with line managers to ensure the completion and processing of all necessary paperwork
  • Supporting the drafting and preparation of change of conditions documentation and liaising with Payroll on the administration of all changes to pay
  • Developing and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of key HR processes and policies, in order to handle standard enquiries


  • Experience of HR administration in a busy environment, including recruitment support, and an interest in developing a career in Human Resources
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people within and outside the organisation
  • Strong communication skills with a high standard of verbal and written English
  • Experience of prioritising a busy workload, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Accuracy and good attention to detail
