Complicité is an international touring theatre company based in London led by Artistic Director and co-founder Simon McBurney. Founded in 1983, the Company has won over 50 major theatre awards worldwide.

Complicité are looking for a Development Manager to join their team. They will be responsible for crafting and delivering a new fundraising strategy for the Company. A senior strategic role, the ideal candidate will have a successful track record of generating funds, be confident in working independently and be motivated by the opportunity to shape Complicité’s fundraising strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy & Planning

  • Develop short and long-term fundraising strategies
  • Develop a strong and persuasive ‘case-for-support’ to seek out new opportunities
  • Create fundraising plans for all productions and projects
  • Plan and implement a programme of effective fundraising initiatives and events, including an online appeal presence
  • Develop fundraising budgets
  • Ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of fundraising strategy

Operational & Management

  • Implement new ways of engaging with supporters/donors
  • Work to develop and oversee the delivery of business plan
  • Produce quarterly fundraising reports
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory compliances
  • Act as ambassador for the Company, raising its profile and inspiring others to donate
  • Keep abreast of key fundraising trends
  • Contribute to journey towards environmental responsibility

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

Essential 

  • Proven track record of conducting fundraising development strategies, preferably within cultural/not for profit sectors
  • Creative and strategic thinker with a flexible attitude
  • Self-starter, able to work to ambitious income targets
  • Able to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders
  • Excellent written and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of media
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Experience in managing expenditure and income budgets

Desirable

  • Experience of digital platforms and fundraising
  • Knowledge of CRM systems
  • Experience of running fundraising events
