The award-winning Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre is a London landmark – a firm fixture of summer in the city, providing a cultural hub in the beautiful surroundings of a Royal Park. The theatre is celebrated for its bold and dynamic productions (The Turn of the Screw, Little Shop of Horrors, The Seagull, Porgy and Bess, The Crucible, Henry V), with audiences of over 140,000 each year during its 18-week season.

Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre are looking for an Arts Administration Intern to join their team. This is a great opportunity to broaden administrative experience and gain understanding of the arts world.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN 

  • Acting as the first point of contact for staff, receiving visitors and resolving queries
  • Assisting with on-site rehearsals
  • Organising meetings (ensuring meeting rooms are booked, greeting those attending, providing refreshments as necessary)
  • Assisting the Production Coordinator and Assistant to the Executive with press nights, presents and other staff entertainment
  • Assisting in the promotion, management and administration of theatre’s rehearsal rooms
  • Monitoring and ordering supplies, receiving incoming mail and deliveries
  • Issuing keys and passes to staff and visitors as required throughout the season
  • Supporting the work of all departments, including maintaining accurate and up‐to‐date contact databases, managing supplies, processing financial papers, alongside other tasks
  • Facilitating excellent communication and cooperation between departments

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

  • A keen interest in theatre and aspirations of a career in Arts Management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Calm, organised and tactful approach with the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Independently problem‐solving, quickly and efficiently with self‐motivation and as part of a team
  • Experience of setting and completing tasks using your own initiative as well as undertaking tasks under guidance
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel
