Do you know how to drive strategies? Do you have a passion for arts? Then we might have the perfect role for you...
Manchester International Festival (MIF) will return in Summer 2021 with a celebration of international culture, innovation and creativity. MIF invites great artists from across the globe to create extraordinary new work for the Festival, which is staged every two years at venues and found spaces across Manchester. Their future home is The Factory, a world-class cultural space being built in the heart of the city, where they’ll present a year-round programme and artists will be able to develop work of huge ambition and scale that they might not be able to anywhere else.
MIF are committed to growing the diversity of their organisation including at Board Level. They believe that the more diverse they are, the more they reflect their communities, and the better they become at innovative and creative decision-making. Diversity means that they recruit without prejudice to any protected characteristic as well as recruiting for potential with openness to a range of backgrounds, life experiences and career paths.
Manchester International Festival is looking for up to four new Trustees to join their board at an exciting time of growth as they prepare to launch The Factory. These are voluntary positions which are non-remunerated except for travel expenses. They are committed to supporting their Board members with any reasonable out of pocket expenses. This might include any necessary travel, subsistence and accommodation for meetings or events, childcare or other dependent expenses whilst attending meetings, specific telephone and broadband charges, and other board related expenses as agreed in advance will be reimbursed.
Their Board meets four times a year for half day meetings with an additional away day session, typically held in September. Dates for all meetings are fixed in advance of each year. Each of these meetings requires members to read papers prepared by the executive team, which are circulated in advance.
