Southbank Centre is the UK’s largest arts centre and one of the UK's top five visitor attractions, occupying a 11 acre site that sits in the midst of London’s most vibrant cultural quarter on the South Bank of the Thames. Southbank Centre is recruiting an Audience Insights Manager, who will lead on audience insights using quantitative and qualitative techniques and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee development of Southbank Centre’s data and research strategy in line with the organisation’s goals and aims
  • Lead on supporting across the organisation with departmental data strategies and provide data reports and research to senior leadership as requested
  • Manage completion of annual reporting tasks for internal reports and to external agencies
  • Provide data analysis to drive decision-making and to meet organisational objectives
  • Analyse data from a variety of sources, sales and customer data and other external datasets
  • Responsible for the development and monitoring of audience segmentation modeling to improve targeting and monitoring performance of key customer groups
  • Manage the efficient use and extraction of data from our database
  • Develop cost-effective strategies and trial new ways of communicating with Southbank Centre’s customers
  • Develop systems to enhance scheduling, data and analysis requests
  • Responsible for regular reporting and monitoring including Key Performance Indicators to meet business requirements
  • Oversee quantitative audience research as required and link insights to quantitative analysis
  • Ensure Southbank Centre’s communication policies and procedures are fully compliant with the requirements of Data Protection legislation and best practice
  • Manage the Audience Insights Officer and any freelance staff as required
  • Manage the insight budget
  • Manage relationships with key external suppliers

Knowledge, skills, experience

  • Substantial relevant experience in audience (or consumer) insights or data analysis field
  • Experience of leading on audience research projects, managing survey design and utilising survey tools
  • Strong knowledge of analytics, data visualisation, dashboards and segmentation strategies
  • Confident in working with quantitative and qualitative data sets to produce data insights and analysis to provide business solutions, with storytelling
  • Highly numerate, solid excel skills and proficient in using formulas in data analysis
  • Strong experience with using CRM systems
  • Proven track record of using data for audience development and customer relationship management
  • Confident in presenting to senior level management
  • Track record of implementing and championing data protection practices that are compliant with with GDPR standards and able to work collaboratively with other departments to maintain high standards
  • Keen and creative problem solver
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate and work well with a wide range of people
  • Excellent planning and coordination skills, with the ability to liaise with multiple external suppliers, key stakeholders and different departments
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the role that diversity and inclusion play in the activities of the Southbank Centre as a whole and in the work of this particular job
