The Place are seeking an administrator to join them for a paid internship, supporting the London Contemporary Dance School. The role contributes to the smooth running of the day-to-day responsibilities of the School Office as a critical part of the Administration Team, while gaining a thorough grounding in the principles and practice of office administration in Higher Education for a busy arts and higher education organisation.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

  • Maintaining up to date records of student attendance
  • Manage the LCDS email inbox; respond to general enquires where appropriate and forward questions to relevant staff
  • Produce Student ID Cards
  • Collate data including module evaluation reports, space requests, student electives etc
  • Assist the team with data entry
  • General administration for the school
  • Administration skills
  • Communication skills
  • Knowledge of higher education
  • Timetabling/Scheduling
  • Database skills
  • General IT Skills – Office 365, Google Classrooms
  • GDPR and Data Protection within administration

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

  • Enthusiasm for dance and the arts
  • Commitment to develop administration skills, preferably in a higher education context
  • Confident user of computers and applications including MS Office
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Good communicator
