Key Account Manager (Parental Leave Cover)

This is a fantastic role for a senior key account manager with a passion for creating innovative campaigns and promotions that engage and excite consumers.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Group Sales department, working specifically with the Hodder & Stoughton and John Murray Press divisions, both of which have a long and rich history publishing bestselling and prize-winning authors including Stephen King, Jodi Picoult, John Grisham, David Nicholls, Stephanie Garber, Billy Connolly and Abi Dare.

Responsible for selling into Tesco, the role of Key Account Manager also helps manage and drive forward the publisher's special edition and publishing collaborations with Goldsboro Books and the UK subscription box market. It also works closely with the General Fiction and Hodder Studio publishing teams, helping them acquire the very best books and working with them to develop and drive forward publishing strategies that deliver event publishing for our brand authors, help launch new voices and create bestsellers.

Knowledge, skills, experience

  • We are looking for a creative and commercial, passionate reader, with a proven track record in account management and excellent market awareness
  • They will be able to set and achieve ambitious targets, driving sales and maximising profit with enthusiasm, creativity and commercial expertise
  • They will be a proactive and analytical thinker with excellent communication skills and the confidence and ability to plan and organise work effectively
  • They will be able to report back results and adapt their communication style for a range of different stakeholders, to ensure they build excellent working relationships with a broad range of departments across the business
