An integral part of our 24-hour operation is the News Features team who shape the programme's daily debates whilst also building award winning campaigns highlighting the social issues affecting people across the UK and beyond.

Good Morning Britain have an exciting opportunity for an experienced journalist and producer to take up the role of Deputy Head of News Features to drive passion and creativity into the planning of their discussions, while also working closely with the team to develop and deliver on their award winning campaigns. The successful candidate will be responsible for making sure they are leading the agenda whilst working closely with the Head of News Features to manage the team. This is a chance for an emerging talent to make their mark on one of the most exciting shows on television.


  • Drive the planning of debates and panels, working with the News Features team to create and curate agenda setting and compelling topics of discussion
  • Lead the development and delivery of eye-catching and exciting campaigns for GMB
  • Build on the success of existing campaigns, including the award-winning 1 Million Minutes
  • Help GMB to improve representation of Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority issues and contributors
  • Represent the News Features team at weekly planning meetings
  • Deputise for the Head of News Features, standing in on team and talent briefings
  • Integrate with the wider GMB team delivering the demands of the programme accordingly
  • Assist with the ongoing management and development of the News Features team
  • Develop and expand on external contacts to bring in stories and guests


  • Excellent news judgement with an eye for spotting and creating agenda setting issues, conversations and debates
  • Proven track record of  developing and delivering engaging multimedia campaigns
  • Experience producing live set piece television events and working with on screen talent
  • Capable of managing several projects simultaneously as well as delegating effectively to producers and senior producers on the News Features team
  • Excellent reputation within the industry, capable of building and maintaining strong relationships and contacts
  • Thorough working knowledge of OFCOM regulation, duty of care, legal and compliance issues
  • Ability to work alone as well as alongside the Head of department and News Features team
  • Prior management experience, either formal or informal is desired
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to maintain stakeholder and contributor relationships
  • Good team player,  encouraging participation from others, driving passion and creativity
  • Adaptable and flexible to change
