Multi-Skilled Operator & Junior Assistant Producer (x2)

Sky Sports are excited to announce they are offering two new and exciting 12-month programmes working in a live broadcast environment. You will experience 2 x 6 months placements as a Multi-Skilled Operator (MSO) and then as a Junior Assistant Producer. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about state-of-the-art robotic camera systems and lighting adjustments as well as the operational aspects of the show formats that Sky Sports work on. You will gain first-hand insight into studio etiquette and the importance of working as a team and building good relationships.

What you will learn

Multi-Skilled Operator

  • Spend your first 2 months trailing experienced MSOs on productions to learn how to work safely in a live broadcast environment
  • Learn the skills required to operate robotic camera systems to broadcast standard
  • Learn lighting theory and how to adjust studio lighting states for on screen presenters and guests
  • Manage the studio floor, being responsible for health & safety, following the show formats and being aware of what’s coming up next on the run down, and ensuring that microphones and technical equipment is correctly set up and ready
  • Experience self-shooting and desk top editing
  • Learn how they produce live sport, where you need to work effectively under pressure, reacting quickly to meet tight deadlines in live environments
  • Learn how to create content for all Sky’s platforms

Junior Assistant Producer

  • Experience self-shooting and desk top editing
  • Learn how they produce live sport, where you need to work effectively under pressure, reacting quickly to meet tight deadlines in live environments
  • Learn how to create content for all Sky’s platforms

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Fast learner with an interest in learning new technology and equipment
  • A graduate in any degree discipline or soon will be
  • Keen to learn how to form great relationships with clients
  • A team player with a can-do attitude
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to think quickly under pressure
