Mentoring Coordinator

A fantastic role for a dynamic individual to join our energetic and devoted team to support with the delivery and coordination of our multiple mentoring programmes.

Creative Access supports young people from under-represented backgrounds into employment; to access creative careers and secure both jobs and paid training opportunities in creative companies. We provide a range of services to companies, from recruitment to employer training and consultancy. A not-for-profit social enterprise, we work with over 500 creative companies, who help us achieve our mission to support all under-represented individuals to thrive in the creative industries. At the heart of this lies our programming team who deliver all training and outreach activities. We are looking for someone to join our team to support with the delivery, coordination and administration of our mentoring programmes. 

The successful individual will have some experience in a programming role, ideally within the creative industries. This new role involves working directly with the Head of Programmes and wider team across various mentoring programmes spanning the creative industries; including mentors for Creative Access alumni as well as sector specific programmes in collaboration with our employer partners including ITV and Penguin Random House. This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of the Programmes team and would suit an individual who is passionate about making change and inspiring young people. 

Key responsibilities 

  • Oversee all mentoring programmes including recruitment of mentors and mentees; effective matching of mentoring partnerships; coordinating training sessions and acting as a key point of contact for both mentees and their mentors
  • Provide ongoing support to mentees and their mentors including sharing relevant resources, collecting feedback, scheduling check-ins, trouble shooting, signposting and distributing wrap-up guidance
  • Contribute to funding applications, marketing plans and programme schedules; ensure budgets are effectively managed and all funding deadlines are met
  • Utilise tools to evaluate and monitor programme impact; input to reporting processes for key stakeholders working in collaboration with our Impact Manager
  • Support with the delivery of other programmes activities including the monthly Masterclasses e.g. logistics, confirming speakers and liaison with host organisations
  • Support the implementation of our Development programme for alumni, including their mentoring programme and leadership training sessions
  • Work in collaboration with our marketing team to ensure brand message is strong and consistent across all events and platforms
  • Follow Creative Access’ safeguarding procedures to safeguard all children and adults with whom we work; help to maintain professionalism and high standards of practice
  • Carry out general administrative tasks to support wider team and attend regular team meetings, both virtually and in person
  • Use Zoom and other digital platforms to deliver interactive events
  • NB responsibilities are subject to change following review and discussion with post-holder

Knowledge, skills and experience 

  • Demonstrable experience in a programming role
  • Experience of facilitation and delivering programmes; ideally involving mentoring
  • Previous experience of working in the creative industries
  • Experience of working across multiple programmes whilst ensuring high standards and quality of experience
  • A track record of working with young people and supporting their skills development
  • A good understanding of best practice in youth work and the benefits of mentoring
  • Ability to meet deadlines, monitor budgets and achieve project objectives
  • An interest in diversity issues and the creative sector
  • An appetite for learning on the job and developing your skills set towards the needs of the organisation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams and independently
  • Hardworking, detail orientated and a team player
