Hannah Frank Art raises money to support the Khadija Saye Internship Fund
We were delighted to learn that this year’s appeal by Hannah Frank Art includes the Khadija Saye Internship Fund.
Fiona Frank, Hannah Frank’s niece and Director of Hannah Frank Art said:
“I was transfixed by Khadija’s story when I heard about her after the Grenfell fire. She is the same age as my daughter – who is a makeup artist – and I connected on some deep level with her and wanted to find out as much as I could about her photography and her too-short life. I was so pleased to find the beautiful documentary that had been made by the BBC about her as an artist.
Finding out about her story made me determined to do something to support other young black and ethnic minority artists, so that something good comes from her terrible death. Hannah Frank was the oldest daughter of an immigrant family – her father came from Russia to Scotland three years before her birth – and I’m sure she would have supported this cause.”
