Over the past couple of months, we are thrilled to have welcomed six new companies into our Creative Access family: Goldcrest Films, City AM, Origin Pictures, Possessed, Communicorp UK and Fifty Fathoms. These companies have helped kick start the careers of some of our wonderful interns, and we are excited to have them on board as our media partners.
Fifty Fathoms are a boutique label, producing drama for British and international broadcasters. They have taken on a fantastic four Creative Access interns to work on ‘Guerilla’, an up and coming politically-charged love story set in 1970s London for Sky Atlantic and Showtime starring Idris Elba. Marvyn Marques joined the Fifty Fathoms team as a Costume Trainee, Riley Wong as a Sound Trainee, Kai Fraser as a Camera Trainee and Victoria Blackwood as an Editorial Trainee.
Part of the ITV Studios family, Possessed is a global content creation and TV production company specialising in producing Entertainment and Factual Entertainment TV formats. Possessed came to Creative Access looking for a Trainee Production Assistant to join their team.
As an ambitious individual with an unwavering passion for TV and media, Yasmine Tabase, a graduate from the University of Kent joined the Possessed team. She quotes: ‘I’m excited to have been given the opportunity to start with a new production company that have some exciting projects ahead. I’m grateful to Creative Access for providing me with the chance to get a head start in such a competitive industry!’
Based in Central London and New York, Goldcrest Films is a market leading supplier of Academy and BAFTA award winning picture and sound post production services for film and broadcast projects. They have been a part of productions including Carol, The Danish Girl, Les Misérables and Hollow Crown: Richard II.
In May, Goldcrest approached Creative Access to find a runner intern to join their post production team. Pasha-Jade Tong, a History and English literature graduate was looking to take her first steps into TV and film production and was selected to join the Goldcrest Films team.
CityAM is London’s first free daily business newspaper distributed across more than 250 commuter hubs within London and the Home Counties. The paper covers financial and business news as well as sport and contemporary lifestyle, receiving monthly website visitor figures in excess of 2.1m.
City AM were looking for a social media assistant to maintain and update their social media channels. They were joined by Nina Edy, a graduate from Canterbury Christ Church University who qualified in Media and Cultural Studies.
Origin Pictures is an independent production company, launched by David Thompson having run BBC Films for over a decade. The company makes drama for both film and television including productions such as ‘Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom’, ‘The Awakening’, ‘Freefall’ and ‘Hidden’.
Despite studying Zoology at university, Rohina Cameron-Perera joined the Origin team this month as a Production and Development Assistant, proving that you don’t need to study media to get into the industry.
Formed in 2014, Communicorp UK is the newest and fourth largest commercial radio group in the UK and home to some of the most exciting brands in UK radio including the Capital, Heart and Smooth Radio networks and XS Manchester.
The Digital Team at Communicorp were looking for a Brand Administrator Intern to join their team. As a result they will be joined by University of Leicester graduate Jasmine Kaur who will receive marketing related training including how to maintain and grow subscribers and use analytical tools to measure campaign success.
The Creative Access family is continuing to grow, with many more opportunities coming our way as time goes on. We wish all of our new interns huge luck with their internships and thank all of our fantastic media partners for their ongoing support.
